Lunacy in Honduras
Honduras has always been a little surreal, but the headlines in Tegucigalpa today are beyond comprehension. Mel Zelaya, who Hugo Chávez dubbed the "Commander Cowboy", has decided to snub the new US ambassador the day he was to present his credentials. As La Gringa noted on her blog, the vice-president, Roberto Michelletti, accused Zelaya of plotting a self-coup, which he denies.
His reasons, support of Evo Morales and Hugo Chávez, presidents of Bolivia and Venezuela, who expelled the US ambassadors to their countries this week. I hope the US expels our ambassador from the US, and cancels all existing diplomatic visas and new business and tourist visas! That way, the Honduran public would rise up against Zelaya and end his term for his incapacity to represent the will of the people.

I hope so. Hugo Chávez will not go quietly...and he is Mel's inspiration, I hope neither remains in office a day longer than their terms.
